Balblair Whisky

Balblair Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky is a super-premium malt, distinguished by its use of hand-selected vintages and devotion to detail.

Renowned for its contemporary appeal and sumptuous taste, Balblair is firmly focused on international luxury markets and is enjoying continued global success amongst discerning consumers.

At Balblair Distillery, on the shores of the Dornoch Firth in Edderton, Tain, each vintage is carefully chosen by distillery manager John MacDonald. Great attention is paid to the selection process and only the most excellent whiskies – those that have reached the peak of their perfection – are picked and named after the year of their casking. Those vintages currently available - Balblair 1975, Balblair 1989 and Balblair 1997 – are each unique but share the whisky’s core style: vanilla notes, rich fruit characters, spicy tones and a creamy, smooth finish.

To complement its mantra of ‘originality, good taste and fine quality’, Balblair has been building partnerships with outward-looking, like-minded brands including Mackintosh Rainwear, wall-paper and textile designers Timorous Beasties and Scottish, contemporary artist, JoLoMo in an effort to shift traditional stereotypes of Scotland both in the UK and abroad.

Furthermore, Balblair’s innovative approach and commitment to excellence has been recognized with a plethora of awards, including Gold and Gold Best in Class at the International Wine and Spirits Competition 2008 and Gold at the Scotch Whisky Masters 2008. Balblair also contributed significantly to Inver House (its parent company)’s win as “Distiller of the Year” at this year’s Icons of Whisky awards, beating hundreds of regional and global finalists.
